A SIMPLE GUIDE TO SETTING UP YOUR FACEBOOK BUSINESS MANAGER

Setting up a demarcation between your business and personal life is something that has a profound profitable impact on your business. Not doing so may clog the wheel of the progress of your business.

Facebook being a social networking platform is however doing everything possible to make it a business friendly platform. This have however, set in a kinda conflict between the business life and social life of most entrepreneurs.
Howbeit, with tools provided by Facebook one can effectively manage their business and get social at the same time without having to let one get in the way of the other (especially now that social selling is becoming sacrosanct). One of those tools is the Facebook Business Manager.

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH FACEBOOK BUSINESS MANAGER?

With the Facebook Business Manager you can be able to:

    • Separate your social profile from your business profile.You choose when to view or not to view your personal notifications and feeds.
    • Manage all your pages, ads account, apps, products in one central point without much hassle.
    • Add page admins without having to add them up as friends or view their public profile or Facebook feeds.
    • Easily assign tasks to people such as employees, admins or even Facebook consultants while you are focused on doing more important task.
    • View and edit all your business assets within the same medium.
    • It becomes even much more handy when you run different groups, pages, ads accounts etc., for clients.
    • Revoke access to your business assets and ads account for someone who no longer work for you without having to go through pages earlier assigned to them in order to remove them.

In a nutshell, Facebook Business manager helps you manage all your business assets securely from a stand point and at the same time being focused and not distracted by other tasks.

 

HOW DO I SET UP A FACEBOOK BUSINESS MANAGER?

Let me take the liberty to presume that you already have a profile or account with Facebook. But if by any means you don’t have one, you may consider signing up here.
Once this is established, we can move on to the simple steps to setting up a Facebook Business Manager account.
To do so, simply log onto business.Facebook.com. Fill the form to set Up your account using the CREATE ACCOUNT button.
NB: You should use a computer to do this as Ads manager isn’t currently available on phones.
CREATE BUSINESS ASSETS
Once your account has been set, then go ahead and create a Facebook Business Assets by clicking on the Add New button.Business assets could be a simple Facebook page, product catalogs or even an ads account. However, if you have created them when you signed up for Facebook business manager, then simply skip to the next step.

CLAIM YOUR BUSINESS ASSETS

Go ahead to claim the business assets you have just created and all of the others you may have created before (It could be a page, ads account or apps, etc) using the Claim Assets Menu and they will added to your Business Manager right away.
NB: Only add assets owned by you using the claim asset menu. Having full control over the assets makes it feasible to claim them.But if you need access to a client business assets, then you should read the next step.

REQUEST ACCESS TO BUSINESS ASSETS

 

Sometimes, you are not the owner of the business assets you manage.Take for instance, you are working for a client whose business assets you manage and you need access to them. Don’t go ahead to claim them or you may disarm your client as they would be requesting access to it like you owned it. Rather, you` should use the Request Access Menu to add them(the business assets of course) to your Business Manager. Then wait for an approval from the other end -either the owner or admin- before it can appear on your Business Manager dashboard.

Having all of these taken care of gives you the feasibility in handling all your social business assets with so much ease and convenience that you wouldn’t even notice how busy you really are.

HOW DO I ACCESS MY BUSINESS ASSETS USING THE BUSINESS MANAGER?

 

Having gathered all your business assets into one medium, accessing them either to change or add data is the exigent thing now to do. Am going to show you how to access your Facebook page, apps, products catalogs through the Facebook Business Manager .

ACCESSING YOUR PAGE:

Having included pages on your Business Manager, the next thing you should want to do is access them. To do so, simply click on Pages and all of the pages you have access to are displayed for you. A comprehensive analytical summary is displayed for all of the pages activities. To get a detailed and much holistic overview or edit task on a particular page, click on the page link usually beneath the page name. YOU can post to your page, promote the page, view your messages and edit notification preferences, page settings and much more.

ACCESSING YOUR APPS

It is possible to bring all the apps you created in the Developer section or bring them into one platform from where you can access them individually or as a group. To add them up into your Business Manager, drag the apps ID from the ‘My Application’ page and then, add them up in the Business Manager. From here you can conveniently access them without much stress.

ACCESSING YOUR ADS ACCOUNTS

Once you click on the Ads Manager menu in your Business Manager, you should be able to access your Ads account especially when you have a single ads account.
However, if you have more than one Ads Accounts in your Business Manager, then simply select the ads account you want to manage from a list of all the ads account you have included in your Business Manager.This is especially useful if you have some people you have assigned tasks to your ads account.
If you clicked on the link under the add account information, you will be able to view and use your ads manager, power editor, or payment methods for the ads account.

 

ACCESSING YOUR PRODUCT CATALOGS

All the products catalogs you have created for your business can be viewed from this section. You can manage old products catalogs as well as add new ones.

AND MORE……..

You can do more with your Business manager such as Assign people or add partners.You will do well to remember that you do not necessarily have to be friends or view their feeds to be able to assign them tasks for your pages.
Giving people access to your business assets could be done in either of two ways:

      1. By adding them or
      2. Assigning them .

People could be individuals you give access to your business assets while partners could be other business bodies you give access to your business assets to manage.You can add them via their Business Manager ID. When you do this, it is now left for the agency to assign one or two employees to handle the assets you’ve given them access to to manage for you.
To assign people to manage a specific assets for you, simply click on the Add Menu. On the screen that pops up, choose ‘people’ and then enter their email address . To determine how they are added –either as admin or employee– use the menu, Definition Of Role to do that. A dialogue box will appear, simply pick or unpick depending on the above case. Better still, you can go ahead and skip it by scrolling to the bottom right.
To view, add or remove people who have access to your business assets, you can go to the Business Settings. You can also cancel invitation and view history from this menu too.

If you wish to assign partners, simply go to the business Assets you want to assign to them such as a Facebook Page, and click on the Assign Partner button.IF you follow the instructions promptly, you should be able to successfully assign partners without much hassle.

THERE ARE A FEW THINGS MORE YOU CAN DO UNDER THE BUSINESS SETTINGS

Under the business setting menu, you can do the following task with ease:

        1. Request security code access and other configurations to help you take optimum charge of your assets and not loose them to mischief.
        2. View history like when someone request to claim or assess one of your Business Assets.
        3. Edit email notification preferences. You can change the email address you wish to receive email notifications for a specific Business Manager related events.
        4. Add credit card details to your ads account when you click on Payment Methods which is under the Business Setting Menu.
          You could also edit your business name or claim your Business Manager ID……And more.
